I bought a new battery for my 2012 (51R) Am I right in thinking the steering wheel has to come off to install it?? If so, do I have to take the Simplicity emblem off before I pull the wheel?? I looked, that booger is on there!!! OK, thats 2 questions. 2 for 1 today??

You shouldn't have to remove the steering wheel, though it's a tight fit. 1. Crank the steering wheel around until the "flat spot" is over the battery location... 2. Keep the plastic pole protectors on it, temporarily, then kinda lay it on its side and slide it over the side panel....

Man, do I feel stupid. Turned the wheel and it sat right in there. I was trying my best to make it complicated....Thanks Kent...

Just remember the name...... They aren't called Simplicity for nothing...... LOL I've heard of it taking hours to remove a deck from some (green)brands, but just to reinforce the point it only took a about half an hour to pull the engine on this one... http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=9147&SearchTerms=it,really,is,that,easy
