The gear with the identification shoulder (one with the writing stamped on it) should be placed on the output shaft (driven shaft). PhilD

Hey everyone, Ok I goofed! When I took apart the bevel gear box on my '64 Landlord, I forgot to mark which gear goes on which shaft. I thought that they were the same, but then I looked at them and each gear goes in a different direction. Could anyone out there help me out in trying to figure out which gear goes on which shaft? Any help would be appreciated, thanks! Mark

Below are pix of the gears I replaced in my 7012H. Its hard to see in the picture, but the (long shaft, output, driven) gear has a machined recess to hold the snap ring. Hope this helps........... http://home.att.net/~achs/gears2.jpg
