64 Landlord mower deck

The mower deck is apart for restoration. I saw that the spindles had plugs instead of grese fittings. The manual I downloaded from the Simplicity site says that the spindles are perminantly lubricated! Everything still works like the day it was new, but this tractor is 40 years old, should they be relubricated, and if so, whith what? The tractor is restored, after the deck is complete, pics will follow.:D Thanks for any help with this.

The bearings are sealed, and aren't intended to be lubricated. The plugs on the spindles allow you to put in a grease fitting -- but that fitting's purpose is not to lube the bearings, but rather to coat the arbor and the housing so that it doesn't hold moisture and rust on the inside....

Thanks a lot for the quick clarification. I'll put grease fittings in an attempt to make this tractor last another 40 years!
