As far as I know the "nelson" mufflers are still available but are quite costly.

The mufflers are still available through any Simplicity dealer. I paid about $78 for the muffler on my A-C 916 just to give you an idea on the cost. They are pretty pricey.

Just last weekend I exchanged the muffler from the 314 to the 410 and was going to get a replacement. Looks like it's time to go with a stack set up. How in the world can they justify $97.34?????????????????????? A $30 glass pack works just fine for my imatation truck!! Bet it would work as a stack muffler too!!!!!

Jack's also has a muffler to replace Kohler Part# 237550 that might fit, but I'm not sure. It's Part# 105296 for $29.34. http://www.jackssmallengines.com/kohler_muff_km.cfm

I think the Cub Cadet mufflers for some of the late 60's tractors are the same. Inlet to one end on the side and the outlet straight out the opposite end on the end?

Yup, i've seen some of the cub cadet mufflers, and they look like they would work.
