What tractor had guide lights with chrome rings

Recommended Posts

I landed a pair of guide lights with chrome rings and a rear toggle switch. What tractors had this feature? These are on a 3112H, but it has the toggle for the lights. Strange?

Are you talking about an individual switch on the back of each light? If so, my 1967 2010 has them, and I was told they were on it since new from the dealer who originally sold the machine.

Tom, yes thankyou. I have them on a 1963 B10 all black though. These have a chrome ring and that switch in the back. Different. I think I noticed Kent had some tractor in a picture with a chrome ring, I may be mistaken, but I've seen them. Just don't know which tractors and why the chrome ring was there. At first I thought these were an after market, then I noticed the stem looked original and then I looked on the back and I saw "Guide". I know I had a score.

If I am right, the early headlight kits came with the chrome trim, and switch. Look up the light kit numbers, and it shows that the early kits for the Landlords and Broadmoors did not have a switch for the dash. The later kits used the all black lights with a single switch on the dash. Tim

Thanks for the replies. The more I and some friends looked over this tractor, the more we believe these were the original lights. All of the wiring looks original as does the cardboard regulator protector. There was a rear light which has the pull out (verses a toggle) switch, So you'd turn on the front lights by the toggle and the rear light you'd pull out a switch. This is different than my B112 which has a toggle and a pullout for the rear light. The HB112 I have has a toggle and both lights run off that. So the kits and installation differed.

I found an early B-10 with chrome ring on black light housing. I believe them to be original. They have the swicthes on the back of housing. My Big Ten has the all black ones.

Maybe the dealer (this was Harolds in CT) had an old kit from 8 years earlier and installed that on this tractor. So maybe that's why a tractor from 63 can have the chrome and a 71 can also. Sounds like the dealer from up in VT has many old parts he's clearing out.

Michael Fred/Cutriteshop used to work for a Simplicity dealer. When this dealer went out of business Fred bought all of his parts inventory which has set stored in his basement for over 25 years.

Hello glad I got on this site. I hope to upload a couple of photos of my Simplicity Broadmoor
Model 707 Tractor. I have replaced all the belts on it and installed a new ignition switch.
Have a mower deck which was in poor shape , repaced a couple of bushings and welded the
deck where there was some holes. The tractor and mower deck came from a friend and the
mower deck metal was getting pretty thin. Some new metal was put in it and we also undercoated the underside of the deck. This was done by my friend Greg Toulman.
I have not put the mower deck on the tractor yet, waiting for Greg to come home and give me a hand. Can you please tell me if there is a manual for the mower deck and where I could get one.
I would also like to get some moon wheel discs as well.
I will try and down load some photos of the tractor when my wife shows me how to.
I really love driving this tractor and also how well it is made compare today's tractors, especially the flexible rear end and the rollers.
      Tell the next time
      Paul
