Guest
I have looked at the info regarding the 718H and the Kohler engine problems. A local dealer has a cherry 7118 with a supposedly replaced Koholer. He assures me that the engine is post Koholer problem an he insists it is a twin. It has been leased to a local school for 2 months to drag their track and will be back soon. He only wants $1800 for it, I think that is ok but I don't want engine problems. I should be able to see it this week or early next. What should I look for? Thanks guys. Guest
The 18HP Kohler engine with all the problems is the old K-series K361 "single" cylinder OHV engine which powered the older 7018 Simplicity Sovereign tractors. The newer 7118 Simplicity Sovereign is powered by the new Kohler Command 18HP "twin" cylinder OHV engine.
dlcentral
Single cyl.O.H.V. eng.BAD!//No parts avail. Twin cyl. eng,if it's an overhead valve type,, GOOD!//All parts avail. Comparing those 2 engs. is like comparing a VW to a big block chev.! dlc
