Cleaning Fuel Gage Lens

EDS

Recommended Posts

The lens on the fuel gage gas cap on my HomeliteT-10 was so cruddy I could not read the gage. I cleaned it with NOVUS Platic Polish # 2 and it came out great. The color is amber but very transparent, easy to see the needle on the fuel gage now.

I got the plastic cleaner from my wife's girl friend. It just takes a little. If you e-mail me with an address I can send you some in a film can. edstoller at earthlink dot net ED

I've seen the stuff for sale at motorcycle dealers in the parts & accessories department. You might also try motorcycle accessory shops in your area. Here is a web site for the product. http://www.noscratch.com/novus/ Go ahead and Google "Novus Plastic Polish" and you will find lots of links to information.

Novus? I haven't heard that name thrown out in quite a while. That stuff is used quite extensively on pinball machine plastics and playfields. If you can't find it locally, Marco Specialties carries it online at http://www.marcospec.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=CHEMICALS No affiliation here, just know they're a respected name in the pinball collector circles. Good luck.

Thooth paste should work just fine. It is used and I have used it to polish fine sctraches and sand pitting out of car windshields.

By the by... it is rumored a redneck invented toothpaste. Otherwise it would have been called teeth paste.
