Kent Posted June 2, 2000 Author Share Posted June 2, 2000 HELP!!!!....the oil drain plug is rusted on big time and i can't get it off...the nut is starting to strip because all i have is a 7/16 open end wrench that fits it.I don't think heating it will work becuase it has oil and that will disapate the heat i think.....any suggestions.the oil drain plug is on a B&S 15H that is on my 3415H. I clamped a large vise-grips on it, proceeded to give it some heat with a propane torch, then tapped on the vise-grips with a hammer. It finally broke loose. Had to buy a new plug of course. Lately I have been using a MAPP gas cylinder instead of propane. I would recomend keeping a fire extinguisher within reach and be very careful not to have any gasoline vapors or anything else flammable around.
