dallenx
I just bought an AC620 last week. I had to replace the bearings on the right rear axle because the axle nut had fallen off for the last owner. I replaced all the fluids and filters and the plugs and wires. The engine runs great but I lose speed (almost stop) going up a small, very small grade. Q#1: Why did the nut fall off? Q#2: Why the loss of power? There's no belt squeal.
Kent
I think the problem may be slipping belts even though you said no squeal. Those drive belts stretch over time and slip so you get no movement. Take the underpan off the tractor and look at the belts from underneath and see if you have any of tension. While you have the drop shield off, carefully, very carefully, maybe using a mirror move the trans. forward and see if all that stuff is turning. If it isnt you need new belts. Have you adjusted the tension on the belts as per the manual? . Roy G
Guest
The first thing to check is the belt tension. They won't squeal when they are loose. If the belts are properly tensioned, the next most likely is air bubble left in the hydro from when you changed the fluid. These will eventually work there way out. Other possibilities include the new filter being bad ( I have seen two where they wouldn"t move at all until the new filter was replaced with another one), and the hydrostatic lever lock not functioning. If the lock is bad or missing, the lever will edge back toward neutral when the trans is under heavy load, thus giving the impression that you are losing power. dallenx
It seems that the new belts and belt tension fixed it. Thanks
