Not being able to get any info on the Jacobson I found, I'm leaving it on the trailer and taking it to Dyersville, Iowa this weekend. Maybe I can trade it for Allis/Simplicity

i saw one at the dump a few weeks ago. i took the 10hp kohler out and the rear wheels and tires for my 7114h. had a tube frame and very heavy duty front end. left a decent looking tranny and frame there.

I have a "Chief" I found at a scrap metal yard. COst me 50 bucks without any tires and wheels. I got it home and put rubber under it and in about an hour it was running. The 12 hp Kohler runs great and it has a neat clutch set up like the old wheelhorse where a spring rod is used to load the clutch. THe Tranny on it I haven't messed with much up till now. It has a lock out on the shifter cutout that you can lift and place the transmission in what I would guess is an extra low gear. all told, its a neat little machine. BUt getting a deck for it would be a pain and if I ever did, routing belts would again be a pain. It has no front or rear lift, just a belly lift so really not much use to me unless I add one. I just hated to know the thing was going to be melted down. It was never on level with the Simple tractors but has merrits of its own. Guess I'll either make a rear lift for it or pull the engine and scrap it..(

There is a yahoo club for the Jacobson. They built for Ford for awhile. I parted out one of the Fords an LGT 145. It had been through HE## and still showed it was a tough old bird. Dan

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
