I am the new owner of 450. 990165. Has a B-G engine 6HP, (not original) I need thrott adjustment help. the engine is ser#A666752 sticker says Model H-80. #146402 0513 01 What year engine??????

Joe, I'm at a loss. I assumed you mean Briggs & Stratton, not B-G. So, I checked out their site today and also the one for old, letter model Briggs at EDGETA also, and couldn't find an H-80 nor a 146402 series.... (the links to both are on the Links page at Simple trACtors) Are you sure it isn't a Clinton -- some of the earlier ones used Clintons..... Kent

146402 is a 1967 B&S 6HP horizontal - it's just probably too old for them to list anymore. It's possible that the short block was replaced, making it an "upgraded" 8HP. If that was the case they came with little stickers identifying such that were placed next to the original model ID.
