Brinly Plow Q

With a brinly plow what is the purpose of the "cutter wheel" ? I call it a cutter wheel because I dont know the proper name and it looks like a pizza cutter wheel. Thank you for any help.

That would be the Coulter. It's the sod cutter so the plow cuts a clean, straight line before rolling over the soil.

The colter will hold the plow out of the ground IF the ground is very dry and hard. such as old hay ground, pasture land, ground that has not been turned over in 10 years or more. I had to remove my colter to plow my garden last year, it was old pasture land and had not seen a plow in 20 years.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
