my simp 4040 with the onan ccka won't charge, i have been told the stator is bad is the anwy replacement available for it? or how do i replaces the charging system? any and all help is appreciated John s.

The stator can be tested for AC output - is this what was done? E mail us complete engine info & we will try to get you one if needed. Or call 724-376-2489 8-5 EST

If you can't get repair parts, you may want to consider retrofitting an auto type alternator and drive it by some belt. The type with a built-in regulator makes it fairly easy to do.

Get a copy of the Onan service/parts manual. It should still be available from your Onan dealer (I got mine for a CCKB, & it was free, they just made it up in the price of the parts!!!!). It has a real good section on electric troubleshooting. I've had excellent results getting Onan parts.
