Does anyone know of any good books on engine repair that would be the best for learning to overhaul these old engines.

Rich, Your fast!! I just read this and went to get the title of my Kohler book. Kohlor Engines K-Series. It covers, I guess all of the K series engines, and is VERY good.

I went to Walmart today and I couldn't believe hanging next to the lawn mower spark plugs was the Briggs and Stratton complete repair guide on every engine they make on cd for $19.95.That's the same price I paid on ebay without all the nonsense that goes along with the bidding.

I thank each of you for your timely response to my question. I have downloaded the Kohler manual to a cd. I would like something that would have a little more about proper ways to use tools of the trade as well as the teardown and rebuilding of engines that I could just sit down and read. thanks , Richard

Thanks Maynard, I must be the retarded one. Both my daughters are librarians. The oldest one takes over as head librarian here in about 2 weeks. I will check the public library .
