too early to aerate / reseed lawn in NC ??

i live in charlotte, nc. is it too early to aerate and reseed /fertilize my lawn this labor day weekend?? i know it would be better later in September, but i do have a 3 dayer to get something done. my lawn seems to been in good condition for aeration. it is soft from prior rain , but not overly damp except in a few low spots. your thoughts please

Wait until at least the 14th or later. That's normally when we sow grass and wheat type crops here, just north of Raleigh. It will keep your seed out of the late summer heat and in the cool fall times here and just as long as you keep it watered it will come up right good.

Here in R.I ,we're gonna seed 600 acres this tues,and just hope that we don't get too much rain from "Frances".
