AC808 Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Does anyone on here have torque v. rpm and hp v. rpm curve diagrams for any of the cast-iron motors. Id like to get an idea of where these numbers peak. Thanks guys!
D-17_Dave Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 I don't and like you , wish I did. However in line with both being longer stroke smaller bore engines, it should be close to thesame. A better comparison I think would be the old 1-lunger's verses the new large bore smaller stroke multie cylinder engines. I bet we'ed all be surprised.
maxtorman1234 Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 Theres one on the site comparing torque of newer 2 cylinder kohlers vs. others. I'd be interested in seeing ones comparing the briggs and kohler singles.
Allis_B12 Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 The Briggs manuals on the site list torque numbers at specific RPMs. The 12hp puts out about 21 lb-ft. at 2600 RPM. A 10hp puts out 16 3/4 lb.-ft. at 2400. http://simpletractors.com/operation/300401/page_5.htm http://simpletractors.com/operation/243431/page_5.htm If Kohler published their numbers, maybe someone with a manual could give the specs?
ambler Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 Kohler Magnum specs same as Kseries M12 spec 12 hp PEAK TORQUE @ MAXIMUM 22.3 lbs. ft. @ 2200 rpm M16 spec 16 hp PEAK TORQUE @ MAXIMUM 28.0 lbs. ft. @ 2800 rpm
