Throttle and Hydro Lever Vibrations

I have to keep pushing the throttle and hydro levers back into position..ie at full throttle the throttle position will vibrate back and stop around 3/4 throttle.Same thing with the hydro lever but I think the hydro lever goes way back to about 1/4 of full speed...Between the two levers contantly moving back I barely get a chance to steer the thing,LOL When I bought the tractor it had sat out under a lean-to.These to levers was sort of stiff to move and made it so the hydro was hard to move slowly and smooth.I sprayed it down with WD-40 and now it seems to work nice other than maybe a little to easy..thus the vibration alows it to move back by itself... Anyone else had something like this? What can I do short of sticking bubble gum on it :DMaybe a can of spray-on-rust or a can of seize,LOL

The detent ball may be worn on the hydro lever, and there's a friction washer on the throttle handle that you may be able to tighten up on it a bit to keep it from slipping back to idle.

That used to happen with my 416H. I would let it sit, the hydro lever would vibrate into reverse and then it'd run away:(!. I thought about drilling holes in the quadrant and then put a bolt through the handle so it locks into the quadrant but never tried it. I hope to have my 416 back soon, so I might just try that.

I had a similar problem with my 312H. There was a slight groove worn in the outside of the plate that the hydro lever travels along. I had a bead welded over the groove and ground it back down flush. That seems to have taken care of my problem.
