I REPLACE MY 8 HP ENGINE IN MY B10 LAST YEAR WIT A 16 HP ENGINE . THE PROBLEM IS THE LONGER I RUN IT STARTS TO SLOW DOWN MOVE THE THRODLE FASTER OR SLOWER DOES MAKE NO DRIFRANCE. LET IT SIT A MIN AND IT WORKS FINE FOR A WAYLE. THE ENGINE DOES NOT FEAL HOT . HELP ///

I had a 5hp Briggs do that a couple years ago and it had a huge mouse nest under the shroud..It didn't never smell hot to me.It must have been getting hot enough to slow it down though...

HI, Sounds like a good place to start. If the fins are plugged you won't feel as heat or air in front of the fins, as the fan can't blow the air over the fins and the heat is trapped. Al Eden
