how do you remove a flywheel from a kohler magnum (M20S)? I got the flywheel off but am now trying to get to the stator to ungunk it:o).I have the drive shaft off but there is a sort of drum which houses the stator that I can't get off.

It looks like you only got half the flywheel off. never seen one come apart like that. Both halves are supposed to come off as one unit (I think). The stator is under the "drum" which should come off with a puller or a little encouragment. Craig (Simpletractor Member) did have a flywheel to fit a M20S that he wanted to sell if yours is damaged:(

Go here. You will need a puller to finish the job. It is a taper fit and once torqued, they don't fall off. Don't forget to protect the center thread. http://members.aol.com/pullingtractor/flywheel.htm

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
