I went to the Simplicity website and looked up that model number for a parts manual. The manual says that model was made from 1964 to 1976.

The earliest Broadmoors - 990287, 990288 and 990303 were all 6 horse engines. They were built from around 1963 to 1965. Simplicity did not have very strict model year designations - especially back then. It should have a 14XXXX model engine, and the first two digits of the code should be 63,64 or 65. Depending on engine numbers, it may be a 7 horse out of a newer Broadmoor. The manual listed on the Simplicity site covers the 6hp, 707, 717, 727, 728, 738, and 5010 tractors. Some parts are common all along, but those are 3 basically different tractors as the years progress. The Broadmoors are pretty cheap, and pretty common yet - have fun with it. Tim

The 990303 Electric Start was not made the first year of Broadmoor production. I had one(1963) with the decal that only listed Standard and Deluxe, and another(1964) the listed both of those and the Electric Start. This points to the 990303 being first available in 1964....

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
