A couple weeks ago I took the Case apart for the motor and hydraulics. I didn't like it, it was difficult to use. Anyways, I sold the 16HP motor from my 410S. I don't have another good motor, just the one that was in the case with the different block. Anyways yesterday I thought I'd try to adapt it to work in the 410. Luckily the adaptor for the driveshaft fit the flywheel. I found some scrap peices of steel, cut them drilled holes for mounting, and fooled around getting the engine centered, then I finally got it bolted in. Today I started it up, and everything is perfect. It runs good, the driveshaft is straight and dosen't wobble. All I need to do now, is figure how to hook the regulator up to the tractor's wiring. I'm happy with it, and I'm also happy I did it myself too. That's one less thing to do. I only had to cut the one small spot out of the frame for the nut on the s/g. Would anybody have the wiring diagram for a tractor with an s/g? Nice work Graham. The following is a good reference for basic S/G wiring - the ignition part will be different of course if you have a coil instead of a mag.

Great, Thanks. The wiring is all I have to do before I get the Case hydraulics on it}:) The hydraulic blade angling should be nice:)

All he would need is the S/G wireing inteface. As Both engines were/are Kohler, he is wired for a coil. Looks good Graham. Are you gonna use the pump instead of a pto? Or do you not use the blower with this tractor.

I don't have a blower for this tractor, but I'd like to find one. WIth this motor I can't even use a deck. Just non-powered attachments. Unless I can hook up a hydraulic motor for the deck}:) Lol. The motor on the trans of the case is huge and has about a 6" long splined shaft, almost useless for anything. I got it wired up and it's charging. It charges at around 15 Amps just like the newer setup is rated at. My regulator is different than the one in the diagram, it has one wire to each terminal on the s/g (one comes from the back of the regulator), then one to the ammeter, and theres an extra that was hooked to + side of the battery on the case. I just left it disconnected for now. No idea what it does. Thanks for the help,

Heres pictures of how I'm mounting the hydraulics. Still have to get a few connecters and hoses, but I have a bunch of hydraulic hoses from my uncle, Just have to get adapters for them. That setup looks like it's gonna work pretty well Graham. That heater is certainly going to make a big difference, maybe winter won't seem so long this year.

After fooling around some, and 60$ in parts, I have it complete and working. It looks ugly, but seems to work well. Just have to get the brackets for the cylinder attached, then It should be finished. I figured since the case originally had heater hose on it for the return line, I'd use it again. Seems to be holding up well. Also have quick connects inline so I can still easily remove the blade. Had to make up connecters to join the hydraulic hose to the heater hose. They had one 1/2 to 3/4 in plastic, but not in steel. Had to join a 1/2 and a 3/4 together. At least theres no leaks, but over time i'll try to clean it up some so it isn't as ugly. Graham, the light duty hose will work since there's no back pressure pshing the oil into the tank. If it seems week you can put single wire reinforced power steering line in place of it. A little harder to work up on the barbed fittings but still bendable and will handle the heat and oil better than heater hose. By the way, looks great. Nice job of useing whats all ready there.8D

That's what I call recycled tractor parts. It looks like it will make lifting implements a lot less difficult too. Do you still have the rest of the Case? I am looking for the oil cooler that was under the oil tank for my 220 Case. If you want to sell it please P.M. me. Thanks, Dan

I think the way it's set up now should be good. I also used some more spare tractor parts for the lever. I used the lever that tensions the belt on a 700 series to operate the valve. [img]http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/attach/maxtorman1234/dscf0018.JPG[/img]
