Drive belt routing

Hi..did the engine swap on my Broadmoor II 6008. I went to put the belt back on, and have it touching the floorboards and clutch rod in places. (did not run it yet). I must have put it back on wrong. When sitting on the tractor, does the portion of belt that comes from the left side of the engine spindle supposed to go on that center pulley (where it changes the drive from horiz. to vert. for the x-axle), or is the right side? I have the tech pub, but all it really says is to install reverse of removal. I didn't pay too much attention because the pulleys were either flat or notched, indicating which way the 'V' was supposed to go. whoops. Thanks in advance. --Jim

ok, think I got it. It was touching the clutch lever when slackened. When tight, it's clear. We'll see what happens whenI fire it up. Thanks everyone
