New Toy#1 When I started it back up it vibrated at lower RPM about enough to shake you'r fillings in your teeth out but at higher PRM it is better I had to remove the front disk to put in the pulley for the pump has anyone else had this problem? New To#2 With turret. Project #1 As soon as I purchase the tooling and read some of the manuals on how to set this one up and run I hope it's like the others I have ran at work.

I'd guess your vibration is coming from your driveshaft if it's orginal parts. The rubber discs seem to sotta fall apart after 40 years. My landlord has a hole almost worn through the frame where the rear one was run lose. Whoever run it mussta not had any fillings. Think you'd smart to check both end of the driveshaft. Not positive on this, but I think you need to remove the spacer on both ends of the drive shaft when you add the hydrolift pulley. Just using the newer replacement disc's may solve the length problem. Without a disc on the front of your driveshaft I think your asking for engine bearing problems in the future.

The 10HP engines use a thinner pulley than the 12HP... are you sure you have the right pulley in it? You should be able to use the flexible disks on both ends, with the correct pulley... See this link from the archives: http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=12533

My pulley is the thicker one. Does any one have one of the thinner ones I could swap for or can I just machine this one off to work?

Also check the inputshaft at the BGB. They will viberate real bad when that front needle bearing is going out. Also those old rubber flex disk seem to seperate with time and can be replaced with the fiber glass disk.

I have the fiber disk I removed so I think I will just machine the pulley down to a 1/2". If that is the right thickness if any one can measure it for me.

Toad, I think I have a thin pully. If you want to swap for it, I'll check when I get home if you want. That's a nice lathe and cnc. I've been looking at some lathes lately but nothing I can afford right now. I just went with my brother and picked up an older, early 80's I think mechcanical stop lathe for turning bolts and other round, collet controled stock. Looks like it could do those if I bugged him enough to do the setup. I dought that would ever happen. How big can you go with that one? Did you get it new? Looks great though. These must be the toys Santa didn't trust throwing down the chimney.lol

D-17 Dave If you can find it I would be interested in swapping with you. I'm not sure how big of a piece I can turn it looks like maybe 4" Dia. But I have got it out of the box yet I have to build a shelf to set it on. The guy I bought this from in Kansas city hasd 5 of these and a few cnc mills also bought them from a school auction.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
