Tranny rebuild

Recommended Posts

I pulled apart my B112 tranny to find worn out Pinion shaft gears. The ones that move sideways when you shift the transmission. Well I can get them new but they are about $150.00 for them. A little more than I want to spend, So, I pulled apart another tranny that I had for parts. Guess what I found better gears but not as pretty as I hoped for. So, I pulled apart a second tranny from a model W that I had only bought for parts. I was hoping the tranny being on a Walk Behind would be in better shape. I figure it probably didn't get shifted and abused the same way as a tranny from a four wheeled tractor. Well I got it apart yesterday to find really nice gears. What a relief that is. Now I just need to get the rest of the new parts, clean all the old parts and start the reassembly. I don't want to rush it. I want to do it once and do it right.
