Carb Freeze-up??

Recommended Posts

I have read several coments about carbs freezing up when blowing snow. This year will be my first time blowing snow (if we ever get enough). I have always pushed snow with my 2N and never have problems with carb freezing, knowing its allot bigger and has warm air from the fan/radiator blowing acrossed it. Here in Indiana, the temps rarely get into single digits or below 0 and if it does usually only for a short time. At what temps do you guys incounter freezing problems? Do I need to spend the time fabricating a heat shield? Thanks

When blowing snow the carb problems are caused more by the snow getting stuck to the carb then the outside temp IMO. Have never had problems when pushing snow. I've had problems blowing snow when it was 20 above out, mainly caused by the FACT that the wind always blows from the front of the tractor back over the operator when using a snow blower.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
