ID help

I am certainly a novice here as I am looking to ID my fathers' old AC garden tractor without being able to go look at it, ( christmas). He loves this tractor, calls it Alice. I have browsed all the old brochures here and can find no model that looks exactly like it. I'm going by memory. It is yellow, has a bee, black seat. The biggest difference I can see is in the mechanism to adjust the mower deck hieght. The brochures all seem to show a handle that extends above the body of the mower. My fathers' is a short handle, 8 inches ?,it has two parts, a fixed top handle and a pull up release to activate the move. The " dial " says float at the top, and has two other positions. Not much to go on. This machine is certainly from the 60's as I remember mowing with it as a teenager. Any help appreciated.

Sounds like an late model B10 with hydo lift. the late B10s had the bumble bee on the side and a extra decal on the grill that said B10. AND WELCOME TO THE CLUB

It sounds like a b 206 or 207. Check out the simple tractors home page and then go to the AC section and check out those pictures. Good luck, JH

Probably the one in the brochure is a mechanical lift. It sounds like you have a hydraulic lift The bee decal indicates a later model B-10. Thats my guess anyway. Fred Wood

Other than the mower lift handle, does it look like this: If so, it is a B-12 with the optional hydraulic implement lift...

Go to the Simple trACors site and check it out. http://www.simpletractors.com/default.htm Here's the section for the "Bee" B-series. http://www.simpletractors.com/models/b_series/1966_cat/b-10_%26_b-12.htm Here's a section on the hydro lift with "float". http://www.simpletractors.com/operation/hydraulics/hydraulic_lift.htm
