There's no GOTO in NY this year, as far as I know... the next time it'll be in New England is Maine in 2007, unless I'm mistaken....

There are a couple of LARGE show / swap meets here in New York every year. But no actual GOTO that I know of. For those that dont quite know what we're talking about: Gathering Of The Orange, is a national event, for Allis Chalmers. It moves around the country from year to year, to get full nation exposure. They generally have 2 shows per year. An EAST show, and a WEST show. And being labeled that, does not mean one will be on the east coast and one on the west either. They are generally east or west of each other and thats about it. LOL Like Kent said, the next one actually on the east coast is Maine, 2007. The GOTO East that most of us refer to, was, GOTO East was hosted in Canandaigua NY this past year. A big bunch of club members got together there to have our own mini goto at the national gathering. And that was a terrific sucess !! the show and swap meet is at Canandaigua every year, but this past year just happened to HOST GOTO. There is also a show about as big in Alexander NY every year too. Hope this clears things up a little for some. It just seemed to me by some of the posts and responses, a few were confused as to what GOTO actually was.

1,005 miles is a long way to tow a trailer. Not sure if We'er going to make it. I know Melanie is trying to come up with somthing to be able to go but we'll see. Elon

Melanie was toying with the idea of a bunch of us New Englanders/New Yorkers, split the cost of a Ryder truck to haul our tractors in and have a convoy on the way up. It looks like it would be doable in two days, comfortably. Thinking about it "after I laughed at her" it wouldn't be to bad. I'm not sure what size or how much $ it would cost but if a few of us went in on it, it wouldn't be to much. Is there any of you who would be intrested in it? Elon

Not a bad idea hey, but can we camp in the back of it? Maybe a hammock too would be nice. Wouldn't have to worry 'bout rain! Rob

You guy's make me jelous. I surely wish we had a little better showing down here. When we had GOTO at Denton a few years back I really enjoyed it. The bad part is I think it was poorly organised and so it mixed with the normally scheduled tractor show and I don't think AC got a fair show. I'd still travel a little to go to a show, but to maine or wis. is a little far.lol

Dave, There has been talk about some of the east coast members getting together at a show in either PA or MD, this summer. Would you be able to make that trek? I went to the GOTO show from VA last summer and had a blast. Only took about 10 hours to get there, pulling a trailer with two tractors. Went to Colchester, CT the year before. These trips are becoming the primary summer vacation for Becky and I.
