powerking_one 0 Posted January 17, 2005 I was surfing the new about the debut of the Airbus A-380 tomorrow, and that lead to Boeing's website. It's interesting that "oldone"s post about still being to get 40+ old parts for a simple Parker-Hannifin garden tractor hydraulic lift pump. This in leau of what they are in the business of today (providing the hydraulic systems for the Boeing 7E7 planes). http://www.boeing.com/commercial/7e7/dev_team.html http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=40986 Sorry its not really "Talking Tractors", but it relates to company roots.... cwm1276 11 Posted January 17, 2005 Tom, Sundstrand was in all kinds of business in it's History. I happen to live near Sundstrand first took off. They where located in Rockford, IL before being bought by Hamilton. A group in Rockford actually tried to get Boeing to build the 7E7 in Illinois, but Washington offered a better deal. They did incorporate Rockford's idea to fly parts in for construction instead of by sea as Boeing as done before. Actually the part closest to our tractors is now Sauer-Danfoss. Check them out at www.sauer-danfoss.com They have a location near me too in Freeport, IL.
