916??

Went by the local dealer today and seen that they had a 916 Deutz-allis sitting there. It had no attachments on it but they might have been taken off for the winter. Anyone know what these are going for these days looks to be in ok condition. Anything to look out for on these models. I like the cast iron kohler in it. Would like to trade or sell either my 3112v or 3212v and get this hydro machine. I already have a deck for it would like to get the 36" blower from my 3212 to fit. Would I just need a new lift rod and front hitch or more than that. I am hoping they don't want much more than $1,000 for it but I don't think I'll be that lucky they wanted $2500 for a 18hp sovereign with 48" deck I passed on that one.

I have a 7116H. Same tractor, but Simplicity instead of Deutz-allis. 916 has a Kohler 7116 has a B/S engine. These tractors are only slightly different from the 700 and 7000 series tractors. Mostly frame and sheet metal I also have a 713S and a 716H. Love those machines. My 7116 isn't currently running. Bought it this summer to restore. Only paid $250, but it needs a lot of work. I would think that without a mower the 916 would be worth about $750, with $1000 being a very top end price. Of course I don't know the condition of the tractor, but I think it would have to be in very good condition to bring $1000. As far as the blowers go, I don't know for sure, but I have heard that it only requires a different hitch.

Don't know if this will help but here goes. Bought AC 710 3 speed w/ elec. lift, 7013S simp. 727 broodmore, 3310v part tractor not much here to work with. 2 42" decks, 2 36" tillers, 1 30" tiller, 3 blade with hitchs. 36" deck for 727. All for $2000.00. I think I have about $700.00 in each of the 3 tractor after a little fixing here and there.

If the deck you are planning to use is off of a foot dragger, it probably won't work on the newer tractor. I know the 42" decks off the older tractors dont work because the height adjustment cranks are too close together and would hit the underside of the running boards. I don't think its worth a $1000 unless its got several attachments and is in really good shape.

The deck I would plan on using is a brand new 48" deck I planned on using on my 3212. I used it once and decided I would need a smaller pulley on the deck to increase blade speed. Decided to look for another deck for it instead of cobbling up my new one. This dealer is a nice enough guy and everything but he doesn't like to wheel and deal too much:(. But I'll check it out anyways and maybe he'll suprise me and shoot me a good price for it. I really don't need another tractor I have 3 already but everyone knows how that story goes:D. Well I went to the dealer and looked to machine over and it seemed clean as a whip. So I went in and asked about it and it turns out to be the dealers personal tractor that was only in for repairs and he didn't take it back home yet and it wasn't for sale, just my luck:(.
