dbf 0 Posted January 20, 2005 We got about 7-8 inches of dense snow today, so it was a perfect opportunity for me to "try" out my new belt. I blew and plowed, and the belt held it's own. Every once and awhile under a heavy load, I could smell a slight pungent rubber odor, but after almost 4 hours of hard work, the belt is still looking good. Now, you all have to appreciate, I'm being somewhat optimistic!! I had to adjust it once. It's either stretching a bit or wearing into the pullies more. I do have one question though. How much fuel should a 10 hp B&G drink during an afternoon's hard labour? I dare say I burnt close to 2 tanks, well, maybe 1.5 tanks. I'm just wondering if that is excessive. As well, I checked the oil when I finished and it's down about 1/8 cup. I thought that is pretty good. The tractor worked it'soff today. JB3212v 0 Posted January 20, 2005 Your fuel consumption sound about the same as the 12hp briggs in my 3212 when I blow snow. They seem a little thirsty but then again the tank isn't all that big either. Mine will also burn a little oil when really worked hard.
MDB 134 Posted January 20, 2005 I would say that your fuel consumption is about normal for the load that you are putting on the engine. When I am blowing snow with the 3212 I am running on the governor quite a bit of the time....
