Snowblower parts

I do not know the correct name for scrapper (?) that is under auger on tractor mounted snowblower. I thought they were reversible. Also thought they were of heavier stock. Wrong on both accounts. Can they be purchased new? Snow blower is a 690548 if i remember correctly. Or can i weld a piece of 1/4 flat stock to original?. If so, could I use a 3inch wide piece?

Hi Ron, the scraper are still available if your blower is a 36 inch more than likely it`s part number is 106863 and is $42.00 on Jack`s website. The number that you gave should start with 990 or 169. 990548 is a sickle bar mower. But the scraper blades are available for the 36" or 42" blowers.
