tooth bar on a loader a good or bad idea

I saw an add for a Johnny Products "new tooth bar" for their low cost front end(almost)loader.I bought a used Legacy 25 hp with a front end loader and I am thinking about buying Johnny Products tooth bar if it fits my bucket [I think it should but I will check with Johnny Products.] I am wondering if "teeth" on the loader bucket make the digging potential of the Simplicity FEL bucket much greater or are "teeth on a FEL bucket are a waste of money? Do any of you have any experience of digging with and with out " teeth "on the bucket? What do you think chuck

I have a 20hp Sunstar with the Kwik-way loader.I believe it is the same loader you have. I find that the weight of these tractors makes this loader dig quite well. Once you get used to using it you can put the cutting edge on the ground and just drive the tractor into it. I don't see the need for a toothed edge. Hope this helps.

I certainly would like to have teeth on my Loader for my Powermax. I guess it depends upon where you live and soil conditions. I have hard clay soil in my area that a strait sharp cutting edge has a very hard time with. Consider also that a Powermax with a loader is a 2100 Lb. machine. Sometimes have to back-up and loosen the soil with the toothed backhoe bucket before digging with the loader. Paul
