I've got my nose to the ground.. Simplicity 13HP and a starter that costs over 100.00 is all the information I have so far. The only 13 horse I know about is the 7013, year 1975. Is there anything in newer models (1983 and older is all I can find on main page).. Could this be a newer model, 84 or newer??

Thank's Bob. I hope this is an older tractor. The starter is another clue. Maybe a S/G. One can hope...I don't think any of the newer type starters cost over 100.00. A man put a new starter on this tractor for a lady, now it might be for sale. My brother works with the man who did the work, said it might need some engine work. In an unrelated topic I am also on the trail of a Simplicity with dual wheels.

Hope you get it figured out and also get that tractor with duals. As for a starter, I think most of the horizontal cast iron engines used pretty much the same gear starter. But I think in 75 they were still useing S/G on some models. So I guese it could be either one.

The 13 Hp B/S that I currently have on my AC713S came from a Homelite T13. It has the starter-generator. I am not sure what year they switched from starter-generator to bendix type starters. My 82 7116 has a bendix starter in the 16 Hp B/S engine.

My Simplicity Baron 7013S 12hp has a Briggs & Stratton engine 302431 made in 1976 has a starter generator. Sometime after this they went to a starter and alt. www.simplicityva.com Karl
