Saw this front counterweight on eBay, and it has a part that I don't recognize. What's the long curved bracket/rod shown on the left? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=82242&item=4354917084&rd=1 I havt two front counterweights, but I don't recognize this piece, nor do I have one of them...

Looks like it would be an alternate lift arm for more leverage cant seem to find an application where it shows though.

I also see an extra bracket or something on the left side attachment arm. Is that possibly where the mystery bracket attaches?

I see that, boox... That's how mine attach. But I have no idea what this extra bracket and curved rod/bar are...

I have the same counter weight that came with my B 212 and I mounted it on the front end when I used the tiller attachment on the back. I have no Idea what the curved bracket is used for mine did not come with it. I found the counter weight very helpful when I mounted it on the back with the snow plow. I made a big difference when I pushed large amounts snow.

Bill, how do you have that front counterweight mounted on the back? It's hard to tell from this angle...

Hi Kent: I mounted the counter weight on the ball hitch attachment. I used 2 1/2 X 1/4 X 10 long pieces of steel. Drilled two 1/4 holes in the ball hitch attachment and steel both sides. Drilled two 1/4 in holes on each side on the opposite ends that match the hole pattern of the counter weight and bolted everything together using 1/4 20 X 3/4 bolts. After I mounted this on it made a huge difference when I plow snow. Bill

That's about as creative as I've seen in awhile. Simple answer's for simple tractors.

I agree... VERY creative! Looks like you maybe could even put a "donut" weight on each end now, since it wouldn't interfere with the front axle like it would on the front...

I think I'm going to give that a try too. Thanks for sharing.
