Dtrain Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 I have posted a couple of questions since I picked up a 720 A-C last fall and want to thank all those who have helped me. The engine is getting two new pistons, rings, exhaust valves, twin drive belts, and hoses while the engine is pulled. Front spindles/kingpins and axle pivot has been reconditioned and are like new (or better). I am in the process of putting new belts, bearings, idler, and rear rod and rollers on the 60" deck plus it will be completely cleaned and undercoated prior to the installation of new blades. It seems I never know when to stop when I start reconditioning. At any rate, whether I keep the rig or sell it, it sure will be in good shape come green grass time. :) Thanks again to all those here. Dave
Dtrain Posted February 7, 2005 Author Posted February 7, 2005 Hi Wayne. I got rid of the very poor design the PO had used. We had some curved exhaust pipes made at a muffler shop and ran them out to each side (ending with canister mufflers sold by Onan) for the time being. Since the PO had already notched the hood :( it was the simplest solution. I will see how it works out- excessive noise is my main concern but the flow will be good. I don't have a Harley but it will sound like one. :)
nighteye Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Sounds real good Dave, I,ll bet you cant wait for the grass to grow huh?
