Froozen Drual

We had two additional manlifts delivered to the work site the other day and had to take out the temporary plastic door into the building, while doing so, I saw one really cool trailer. As these manlifts have about 3 inches of ground clearance, using a ramp style trailer wouldn't work, good ole American inginnewaty comes up with a trailer that the deck hydralicly lowers to the ground between the tires. My thoughts,,,,,what a sweet rustted, broken, flat tired tractor hauler this would be. Reckon I looked a little funny as it was about 30 below out so I recon the drual running down my beard was iced.

Marty, That would be a good outfit for retrieving nonrunning iron... I remember years ago some of the farmer that raised hogs in this area had trailers similar to what you are describing to move hogs with. I think they had an electric over hydraulic unit on them. Great idea..:D

I've seen motorcycle trailers that lay down as well. Pretty neat, no ramps needed, just rolling them on flat is a lot easier.

There was a discussion about these trailers on one of the landscaping forums a few weeks ago. I looked at them online, they run anywhere from $6000-$10000 depending on size and capacity. I can't think of the name off the top of my head though.

The military had a similar trailer in the utility size 1/2- 1 ton the axle was on swing arms with hydraulic cyl. that lowered the bed on the ground. I have seen a couple on ebay and should be available at any military supplus auction.

I checked Mac-Lander and found no such trailers. More surfing landed www.BilJax.com they make the trailer you described. A local rental place uses one for delivering man lifts. I had thought about one for my Magnatrac crawler, but ended up with a Bri-Mar dump trailer with a reinforced landscape gate rated for a 7500lbs skidsteer. I can tilt the bed to match the angle of the ramp as as to avoid the brakeover, which still scares the crap out of me. Marty, you stay warm and keep it simple.
