Tachometer???

Hello all, I have an older cast-iron 12hp kohler engine, and i was wondering if there is any kind of tach besides the "tiny tach" brand that would work or i could modify to work on this thing. I would prefer the needle rather than the digital. All info would be appreciated. KohlerMan}:)

i know you said you wanted a needle but i have a unit similar to this i bought direct from the factory. i am very pleased so far the button toggles between hour meter and tachometer my other tach on the 3112 only reads the hours after the machine is shut off. http://www.mayberrys.com/generators/hourmeter.htm
