mowerman1193 Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 I scored a couple tractors yesterday..I have never seen a Broadmoor 5010 like this one and it is all original..including lights..I can't remember what the MFG number is right off hand but I looked it up in the tech site and sure enough a picture just like what I have with the odd ball lights..When I first seen it I thought someone added some fog/driving lights on it but this is factory..and the grill is chome too... I also picked up this Wheel Horse GT1642..wasn't planning to buy more tractors but its really hard to pass a great deal They are both supposed to run good but I have not heard them run..Both have mower decks,Simplicity deck looks real good but the Wheel Horse deck has been patched several times and still has lots of holes in it,LOL
Kent Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 That Broadmoor looks like it might be a 50th Anniversary Special Edition...
mowerman1193 Posted February 18, 2005 Author Posted February 18, 2005 Kent, Did they really do a 50th aniversary tractor? I know we discussed about this tractor a couple months ago when I first seen it and you mentioned the 50th edition then..When would they have been 50 years? because this is approx. a 1975 and the motor is dated 1975 as well, But wasn't the 75th edition tractors brought out in 1997?? Something dont ad up right to me but I did see Jeff Nemes had one listed as a 50th likt this one a year or so ago.. My friend (Bunky) called Simplicity about this tractor when we first seen it and they say they don't know anything about a 50th edition tractor but they was going to look into it more and we never heard back from them that I know of..
SmilinSam Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 I have seen those type of factory lights for those tractors in a parts manual somewhere.
dirtsaver Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Kevin we took one of those in trade on a new Simplicity last fall and it's still sitting in the "repair to sell" line. I'll have to look at it closer and try to trace the mfg #. I do know they were a special edition but am not sure the particulars. The one we have came in with a 42" front blade and a 38"? deck and looks and runs great. There are some issues with the pulleys for the deck but overall a good unit. I think the asking price is $599.
SimpleMan Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 "That Broadmoor looks like it might be a 50th Anniversary Special Edition..." First thing that ran through my head was "some kind of special edition tractor". I must admit, it's the first one I've ever seen that looks like that. It's kinda cool. :)
Chris727 Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Looks like that rare broadmoor was a really good find. I've never seen one of those except for in pictures here.
D-17_Dave Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 I don't know a thing about any special edition, but it's definately different.lol Nice score.

I have the MFG number...I was just to lazy to get out of my pjammas in the 14 degree snowy weather to look it up last night when I posted this..The deck should be a 36" or 42" on the one in your lot..I will get the MFG number later and post it...
Kent Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 Yes, there was a 50th Anniversary Edition Broadmoor. Jeff Nemes had pictures of one for sale at one time. I think they were 1973 models, but I'm not sure of that. They had special headlights, chrome, hubcaps and a different seat, I think... All this is going from my faulty CRS memory, so take it with a grain of salt...
mowerman1193 Posted February 19, 2005 Author Posted February 19, 2005 Well the MFG number is 1690118 ... It does have a different seat thats white with black trim..In the "Made When" section of simpletractors it shows that this was made in 1976 only..If you go to the tech pubs. site and enter the number above it will show the odd ball looking thing, LOL Sure would like to know the story on this 50th anniversary tractor..
MPH Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 1976-----1776------200th anniversary edition tractor maybe???????
Nick Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 That tractor is neat looking. After seeing that great restoration of your broadmoor on your website, I must say this one deserves a restoration too.
comet66 Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 I'm with Nick, that is a perfect restoration project.
Bunky Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 I Think Mowerman will sell it... It would make a nice restoration project...:D
10HorseMan Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Regardless it looks to be in good shape.
mowerman1193 Posted February 27, 2005 Author Posted February 27, 2005 Well I finally got a chance to mess with these tractors and they both run good...I plan to sell the 50th anniversary Broadmoor 5010 and keep the Wheel Horse..If any one is interested in this rare Broadmoor you better speak up cause its going on ebay very soon..Just thought I would give the memebers here the oportunity to have first chance at it..See the classifieds for details..I will be listing it there..
AGCO918 Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 Looks like a very rare tractor to me.That is a keeper to say the least. You should restore it now & show it and use it now & then. You have a great little find.
