Don't want to get too personal, but is that expensive? Never looked into it myself and am curious. Looks great. Thanks for sharing.

Nice work! I always wondered what the foot pegs would look like chromed, They look great. And for that belt guard, It looks great. Was that an add on option? It certainly looks OSHA approved!

I Don't see any mowing in it future!!!! Belt guard is a good idea if you have kids at home My brother got his finger in the belt for the S/G when he was younger (8 or 9)his finger nail is still split from it at 41

I guess the cost of the chrome is relative. By the time you spend some much time to restore one of these tractors. Any way, the chrome bill was about $300. I also had the sides of the grill chromed and the armrest. Those were not shown. Still have to do the steering post and lift arm. Yes, I have three of these tractors. Well about 3 and a half. The one with the chrome will not see much grass cutting time. However, I will chrome those foot pegs on the other. You know the paint just wears off those pegs the first time you use it. As for the belt guard, that part came off of a Garden Mark Squire. I saw that the engine was the same and just picked up that part. Yea when I was a kid we used to sand groves in our sneakers. The chrome cost was interesting. Flat surface parts are less than the bolts and small pieces. Frank

When I was a kid, I remember running out of adjustment for the S/G and it didn't have enough tension on the belt to start the engine. But, we used to depress the clutch then pivot the toe of the sneaker or boot up against the S/G belt when cranking and you'd get enough tension or pulley wrap to allow the engine to turn over. You couldn't do that with one of them fancy chrome OSHA approved belt guards.

I think they call that Bling-Bling or something like that don't they??lol Looks great. Now you need that S/G and Carb done up. Come to think of it, where do you stop once you start something like that.

Interesting you say "where do you stop once you start" I tried to get the front grill chrome plated. But the guys at harley davidson said it would not look right with all the little holes. The recamended a chrome type power coat finish. I have a couple of splits in the alum. grill. As soon as I repair those I will have it power coated. Cheers Frank
