Is This Right or Not

The right hand pulley on my BGB ''The Drive Pulley'' has a piece of what I would call a hard fiberglass, and I can turn it and the other side or the outside of the pulley not turn. Is this supposed to be like this, and what do I need to do. It is on a 1968 A-C B-110 and it makes a harsh sound when I let go of the clutch.

There are 2 pieces of slick fiber disc on the clutch split pulley. One on the outside of the immer pulley, and one on the center of the inner pulley under the outside half. That doesn't sound very informative. There are 2 wear points on the split pulley and there is supposed to be a wear strip on both.

These plastice parts are in place so when you let out on the cluch it will not grab. Without the plastice peaces in place it is possable to distroy the drive belt and may slip under a load. I have a B110 the makes a lots of funny sounds when I start to ingage the cluch. I have found it to be dirt and rust in and around the plastice spaceres causing the cluch to grab and raddle some as it starts to ingage. Remove the two end bolts that hold on the outer half of the pully and clean it well. Do not oil any parts and re place it will help. If it continues, get a new outer plastice spacer. Not very expencive and it is a good protection for the BGB and the rear end. A friend of mine did not think much of this simple disign and replace the split pully with a solid one. He could never let out the cluch with a smooth as a take off as befor and he could not creep forward or back just a small amount. It my be benificial to have a solid pulley if you was doing a lot tractor pulling.
