AC808 Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 We've lived here for 2 yrs. I had been in the woods previously (theyre owned by the guys we bought the place from) but had never taken pics of the old iron there. Appears to be a manure spreader, hay mower, and 1 row corn picker. Im planning on dragging as much as possible out before spring. Id like to use the steel wheels to make chandeliers for the barn...Anyone want to help with the dragging process?
D-17_Dave Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 That looks like a 1 row corn binder. If any of it's got Deere stamped on any castings, be carefull. It could be worth some change.
UCD Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 Jay When posting pictures you only need one set of image brackets per picture.
AC808 Posted February 26, 2005 Author Posted February 26, 2005 Ok thanks maynard. I looked and didnt see Deere on any of them...Didnt see any stampings of any kind.
msiebern Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 Nice discovery there. It is amazing what one might find when they walk into an old woods. Almost like prospecting. There is gold in them there woods :D:p:D
Agricola Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 When do you need me up there for the pulling party? A couple of bottle of Spreker in my fuel tank should do the trick.
AC808 Posted February 27, 2005 Author Posted February 27, 2005 Im thinking about hte next few weeks...after the snow is gone and before the weeds and bugs come out...
Nick Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Looks like what was across the street from me before the yuppie development went up. There used to be a farm that had been abandoned since the 50's. There was alot of old farm equipment up there like hayrakes & such. Don't know how to word this without sounding rude, but more then likely those woods were not woods when that stuff was dumped. More then likely it was a field that had nature take it's course. The woods behind my house were once a pasture.
