Hi, I picked up this tractor and tiller the other day. It has a 14hp Briggs, hydro and hydro lift. This machine appears to be very well built. Does anyone know what company produced this tractor for Montgomery Ward? Any input would be helpful, thanks. I kind of suspected that the GIL was Gilson but wasn't sure. Thanks Maynard for the information and for the post on how to fix the "dreaded diskette problem" I needed it. Mark

Its right about a 1971 Gilson built tractor, got one under a blue tarp. The tillers suck, the drive shaft wrap up in any growth over 2 inches tall and because it lifts pivoting in the gear box it's REAL easy to high-center the tractor and a real pain to get unstuck. But, they are a fairly heavy duty built tractor, to bad the engineers had no Simple hands on tractor time.
