In the last storm the linkage that connects the steering wheel to the left front tire disconnected by my left foot. I was able to push the connection together, but realise I need to replace the joint. The tractor in question is a 7012H. Can someone provide some hints to replace this joint? The joint appears to be a "ball joint" or a ball and socket. thanks Rick.........

Should be a large ball joint ass'y and you should be able to replace whole thing.

Download the large frame garden tractor service manual from the Simplicity website. Look in the commonly asked questions for how.

Unscrew the old one, get a new one at your local dealer or parts house, screw new one on.:o) It's fairly simple. Not really any big tricks.;)

Ireplaced the ones on my B-10. The simplicity dealer has a replacement part. It looks a littel differetn but worked the same. Some of the larger john deere garden tractors use the same joint as well.
