ambler Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 Picked up a FDT with a lovely purple seat the other week. It didn't run initially but point cleaning fixed that. Take a look. Its got a funny dohickey sticking out from under the seat. Hi low is missing some thing look at the bottom bolts on the side. Does anyone have what it should be? Also got a donor tractor for this thats down at andy's house.
Agricola Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 Quickly remove that thing on the right side of the seat. Pack it, with its handle and mail it to me. This will be for your safety and the security of all. I will make sure it is taken care of in the proper way.
rokon2813 Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 And I'll do you the same favor as John concerning those 4 ugley bug eyes and the bulky distateful hunks of steel they are attached to :D;) By the way, nice find. Wrong fenders on the B12 though.
mowerman1193 Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 Looks like a good find you got there..I think you have the wrong grill for it though as it says B-12..Hard to tell though from the angle of the pictures..Maybe you have a B-12 with the wrong seat deck...Seat deck looks like maybe a B112 style..
ambler Posted March 12, 2005 Author Posted March 12, 2005 Yes Tin is coming off the rusty B10. Seat Frame is there for B12 and Sandy Lake has new seats. Engine purrs like a kitten but BGB needs rebuild and overhaul tranny. Anyone have a hilo so I can see what should be on those lower bolts?
gregc Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 Whew. I'd say those pivots would be just a little rough on the shift ring. Get in touch with some of the older dealers and you might come up with some NOS pivots and pivot bearings. I got some for the Hi-Lo's that fit the smaller tractors that way. If no pivot bearings are found, you'll find a post on the materials to make your own in a search of the forum. Another couple of real good finds you got. 8D
gregc Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 Those lower bolts shouldn't be there Ambler. Lookup 990348 in the techpubs. Also check out this topic: http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21209
MDB Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 Great find, good for you8D By the title to your post I thought it had something to do with Star Wars.....[:0]IMO the dark side would be RBTs....;):D O well...May The Force Be With You....:D
powermax_paul Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 All you Dearth Vaders You!:D Nice find, and I'll admit I have a FDT too, but just sometimes you wanna stand up and drive,... lol.
ambler Posted March 12, 2005 Author Posted March 12, 2005 Thanks for the info greg. Guess I'll try to order the those splits. Actually a RBT guy like me looks at FDT as the Dark side. Cruise around the yard with her today. She moves well, there's side to side play in the BGB and a oil leak at breather. Shes been hard starting but I believe that its oil on the points from the breather, card wipe cures start problem. New points gasket. New breather and gasket tomorrow. Also got some easy off to clean the engine up to see any other leaks.
MPH Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 Nice score Ambler. Congradulations on your step up in the world,FDT
AC808 Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 Welcome...As a recovering RBT owner...I like it! (I still my 1st AC RBT and now have 3 FDTs and 2 900s) Welcome to the other side...
AGCO918 Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 Very nice find you have there. You are lucky to find 2 tractors with lights on them.
toad270 Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 Welcome to the dark side ambler If you can't handle it I will gladly take them off your hands for you as I am already committed to the dark side LOL Nice score
comet66 Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 Good score Ambler! Should be a lot of fun fixing those up.
JoeJ Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 ;)Real nice Ambler!! Heck, your parts tractor in in better shape than my FDT.:D Joe
HTews Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 I don't beleive the pivot bearings are available. I made mine out of a nylon. I may have some extra if you can't find any.
Kent Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 The pivot bearings are not available -- but the pivots were available, the last time I checked.
Chris727 Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 Nice score! I like both of them but yeah you need to get the right fender on the b12. Anyone notice the bumble bee 10 has a yellow motor,Could be a 9hp transplanted from early b10 or a 10hp out of a big ten?
ambler Posted March 13, 2005 Author Posted March 13, 2005 I'm ordering pivots and seat from sandy lake does anyone have some spare bearings? She runs good no smoke. Have to fix bgb before long, may be a good one in the B10 or around the garage here somewhere. Did anyone see Reeds score? What a deal!!
ambler Posted March 13, 2005 Author Posted March 13, 2005 Joe the parts tractor is locked up big time. steering won't turn two tires blew when Andy inflated them. Andy says motor has compression and spark so we'll see.
TomMaryland Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 Wellllllcome to the daaaaahk side, Mua ha ha ha ha, another RBT'er is assimilated! :D Nice find there! I'm thinking you need to thin out the herd a bit, since this baby will take most of your time and the rest of your fleet will feel so neglected! I'm thinking a nice Sovereign, maybe? hint hint ;) Are you going to do a restore on this one?
PeppyDan Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 Luke... Remember the force within you!!! Nice find as foot draggers go! Dan
