Removing Anti-after fire solenoid

I'm rebuilding a Walbro carburetor for a 287707 Briggs 14.5 OHV. The carburetor has that anti after fire solenoid on the bottom instead of just a nut. What can I do to get this thing off? I've tried turning it clockwise and counterclockwise, it doesn't seem to tighten or loosen. Do I just pull it off?

HI, The solenoid should just screw off. Regular right hand thread. Something is wrong, be careful you don't ruin the threads in the carb casting. Good luck, Al Eden

I figured it out, I ended up taking the solenoid itself apart and then I realized that it was not a nut, but a shaft with 2 flat sides for a 1/2" wrench to fit on. The wrench would not clear the solenoid, so I took it off anyway. I got it off and rebuilt and put the solenoid back together as well. I'll find out tomorrow if I did the right stuff.
