Installing ignition module

Hi. I picked up one of those ignition modules to replace points and condenser (no, I'm not putting it in by bat. ign. LL). THe instructions say not to put it under the flywheel for easy acceability. I don't care about that. My question is, can it be put under the flywheel and still work? Would the magnet interfere with it?? Thanks in advance, -- Jim

I think it would be cooler mounted on the blower housing. Most guys want to avoid pulling the flywheel so just abandon the points and mount it in an easy to get to place.

No, they won't work with battery ignition. It would be nice! I am putting mine on a 7 hp. pull-start. The points cover is under the flywheel. I just wan't it original-looking, and want it out of the way. Pulling flywheels is no big deal--minor inconvenience. The flywheel is off now, and finding the right sized sockets was the longest part of the job. Just want to know if matters or not if it's placed too close to the magnet or coil. Thanks.
