Tacey Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Yesterday I was reminded how awesome Simple trACtors can be. During last Winter, my old Broadmoor required jump-starting when the driveway needed plowed. I knew the battery was getting old, and I suspected other electrical parts might be on their last legs. I got around to doing a Spring tune-up yesterday, part of which was buying a new battery. When I hooked up the battery, the tractor wouldn't turn over. Before I called the dealer, I was able to look up the electrical group pictured in the parts manual on the link provided on Simple trACtors. (Years ago, before cars had computers, and guys like me could actually work on your own car using common hand tools, I remember replacing a starter solenoid whan the engine would not crank.) The electrical group parts list shows a solonoid, so I called the dealer to order one, and he had one in stock. I replaced the solonoid, and the tractor fired right up immediately. What a nice feeling to be able to do the repair myself. I have usually been forced to take equipment to a dealer to get repair work, costing me time and expense. I'm sure I'll still need the dealer to do much of my maintenance on my tractors. I am lucky to have two good Simplicity dealerships within fifteen minutes drive. But for this problem, I was able to handle this minor fix myself, thanks to Simple trACtors. Tacey
