AC808 0 Posted April 24, 2005 I went to the local recycle center yesterday with a truck load or scrap. I found this next to the scrap steel dumpster. I thought it was kinda cool. Id never seen and REO motor. This one turns over, but it sounds like the connecting rod is broken or disconnected somwhere. Not sure what im going to do with it. According to the motor code its a 1954.

MDB 134 Posted April 24, 2005 Nice save, Dad had a REO real mower with one of those little engines on it. After the mower wore out he used the engine to run a small water pump, good reliable little engine....
JoeJ 0 Posted April 24, 2005 Jay, That is pretty neat. Even if you don't restore the blower, hold on to that engine. OR;)drop it off here.:D There's a fella that shows at Jacktown that has a real nice collection of old horizontal shaft engines, ALL running. They are mostly Briggs, but he has a few odd ones that I've never heard of. But it does make one very interesting display. He also makes and sells a very nice wooden base to bolt these to for setting up a display. Joe
