Chris727 Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 Hi. The output shaft on my B12 has about 3/16 of an inch play from left to right. My other FDTs don't have any significant play. When Its running you can see the pulleys move slightly from left to right. Is this a big problem? I'd like to keep using it as most of my fleet is down and I needed to swap in a better BGB anyway as the gears were worn. Thanks. Chris
oldone Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 Chris, If you have that much play in the shaft, I don't how it keeps moving. I would be tearing it down and fixing it! Check to see in the pulleys are tight and the nut is not loose.
tanman722001 Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 That is alot of play.Sound to me you need to check the pulley out to rule that out and if the pulley is tight. Then you need to take it apart and rebuild or change out the BGB.Just my 2 cents Tony
Chris727 Posted May 18, 2005 Author Posted May 18, 2005 Pulleys are tight. Does anyone know the torque spec. for the nut on the output shaft? Seems like most of the time when I take something apart for repair, then it never gets put back together.
