Leroy 0 Posted May 22, 2005 The numbers i have. Orange 103262 can, .......1685179=12cans, .......1685037= quart White 103049 can, .......1685178= 12cans, .......1685032= quart What is best primer for quality adheasion relative to arattle can or bulk application? What are the best practices with respect to rebuilding the paint job? Many people have done very nice jobs. I would want to do a near perfect job. I don't think a rattle can is best. Are the Simplicty numbers are any good or if they cross over to a automotive paint or what is best? Thanks.
Nick 0 Posted May 22, 2005 Good questions Leroy. I'd like to know too. One question I have been meaning to ask even though I am not at this stage yet is how many quarts does it usually take to paint a tractor if you are going the spray gun route. I am trying to get an idea how much to use on the Landlord 101 & B-110 I own. I hate to buy a gallon and have it sit around afterwards and never get used completly. Leroy 0 Posted May 22, 2005 I'm thinking a quart of Orange and a pint of White for the soveriegn. The application i am thinking is as the mfgr did it so it is blue bird perfect. That means both sides and a heap of work tearing it down for prep. Ksever and others have done picture perfect repaint jobs after their rebuilds. Rattle cans can do a good job but that type of application will last as long as todays car paint. not very long.
mowerman1193 0 Posted May 23, 2005 If you have a flat piece of the tractor with a good spot (3"x3") of paint on it just take that to your local auto paint store and they will computor match it..You will need a spot like the back side of the hood or side cover or something that has'nt seen alot of sun.. How much paint you need would vary depending on what type of spray equipment you have..Some spray guns have to run on 45+psi and alot of paint bounces off the object your spraying..Some guns run on as little as 10-15 psi and will use alot less paint..However a quart should be plenty but in some case's you may need a little more..
